Bluetooth will not connect

A saved device is not necessarily connected. First check whether the accessory appears in the list, then whether audio is actually being sent to it.

Before you start

Charge the accessory and find its pairing instructions. Button combinations differ by model.

Try these steps in order

Test after each step. If the problem is resolved, you can stop.

  1. Make the accessory discoverable

    Keep it near the phone and activate pairing mode using its manual. Being powered on alone may not start pairing.

  2. Open the phone’s Bluetooth settings

    On iPhone, use Settings → Bluetooth. On Android, open Bluetooth or Connected devices and look for Pair new device. Labels vary.

  3. Select the matching device

    Choose its name and compare any displayed code. Follow the accessory’s instructions if a PIN is required.

  4. Reconnect an existing pairing

    If its name is saved but it will not connect, forget that accessory, restart both devices, and pair again.

  5. Separate pairing from audio

    If connected but silent, check the chosen audio output and volume. Test another app before changing more settings.
