Use what you have first
Most problems do not require a purchase. Complete the relevant troubleshooting guide before buying anything, and borrow a known-working compatible cable or accessory when practical.
Charging and power
Match the device maker’s required connector, voltage, wattage, and safety instructions. Replace visibly damaged cables or adapters, and avoid accessories with unclear specifications. A charger that fits is not automatically compatible.
Connections and displays
A known-working Ethernet or HDMI cable can help isolate a connection problem. Check the connector type and supported standard before buying a replacement. A Wi-Fi extender or mesh system should come after you confirm that weak signal - not the device or internet provider - is the cause.
Cleaning and handling
Use only the cleaning method approved by the manufacturer. A clean, dry, lint-free cloth is useful for many exterior surfaces. Never place metal tools, liquid, or compressed air into a charging port unless the manufacturer explicitly directs it.
Gaming, TV, and printing
Choose controller cables that support both data and charging when pairing requires a wired connection. Match TV cables to the required port and resolution. For printers, use the exact ink, toner, and paper specifications listed for the model.
